Daniella Mazzio (she/hers) is a communications and accessibility consultant, writer, and performance artist whose work focuses on providing accessible services and community engagement through cultural experiences. She grew up in the Chicagoland West Suburbs before moving to Chicago to earn a BFA in Theatre Arts and a Minor in Digital Cinema at DePaul University.

Throughout nearly a decade in her beloved city, Daniella has worked with creatives, leaders, and advocates from every different walk of life. Daniella was a 2021 Disability Lead Fellow and is a member of the organization’s professional network. She serves on the board of Plant Chicago, a nonprofit whose work centers on sustainability and circular economies. She previously worked at the Chicago Humanities Festival as the Audience Engagement Manager and served on the Urban Gateways Associate Board. She has experience planning events as intimate as 20-person house shows and as large as 4,000-person sold-out festival events. Her audience experience background focused on event accessibility and conducting outreach with underrepresented audience groups, including youth in Chicago and the disability community. She has written about her personal experience with disability, including a piece about disability and Pride Month for Access Living.

Daniella’s creative experience informs her work as a consultant. She has worked at venues such as The Chicago Theater, North Shore Center for the Performing Arts, and The Playground Theater, and has worked on comedic theatrical productions including Yippee Ki-Yay Merry Christmas: A Die Hard Musical Parody, The Wild Women of Planet Wongo, and sketch group Part-Time Scientists’ Second City run. As a stand-up and musical comedian herself, Daniella has performed at Second City, iO Theater, The Annoyance Theater, The Lincoln Lodge, The Crowd Theater, The Playground Theater, and Under the Gun Theater. She was a co-creator and producer of the variety show ‘Cago! during the entirety of its two-year run, booking some of the best comedic talent in Chicago including Hacks breakout star Meg Stalter. Daniella has worked as a performer and performance artist in various other capacities, including being featured as part of the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art’s 21Minus festival and starring in the short film The Human Within, which screened at The Music Box Theatre as part of the 48-Hour Film Festival.

Daniella currently lives in Ukrainian Village with her fiancee (and rock) Joe and their two beautiful gray cats Stanley and Marlowe. In her spare time, she is a passionate baker, crafter, and gardener, advocate for disability justice, and avid cinephile. Daniella is also an illustrator and musician by hobby, often jamming on the keys or strumming a guitar when the day needs a little boost.
